PLAYWRIGHT KENNETH G. CRADDOX

Playwright Kenneth G. Craddox is a playwright, director and producer for Bishop’s Kid Productions. Born in Neptune, NJ he is the youngest of six children. He is a graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, NJ and attended college at Jacksonville State University. After returning home from college, it was then that Kenneth began his writing career. He wrote his first play titled “NO CHRISTMAS WITHOUT CHRIST” which debuted at Praise Temple Ministries in Asbury Park, NJ where his parents, Bishop Archie Craddox (hence the name “Bishop’s Kid”) and Pastor Bertha Craddox were in leadership. Though it was his first play, it opened to an amazing audience response. He then wrote his next production called “A DEAD MAN WALKING” The Gospel Stage Play and once again had great success with this play. This play premiered once again at Praise Temple and made its way all the way to Off-Broadway in New York City.

After his first Off-Broadway experience, Kenneth continued to find success with stage plays “A DEAD MAN WALKING” and “A LOVER OF MY SOUL” receiving numerous awards including two Tiffany Gospel Awards as well as numerous nominations from organizations such as The DC Black Theatre Festival, The Perry Awards, The American Gospel Music Awards and The Tiffany Awards.

Though writing plays has become a very important part of Kenneth’s life, he still remembers what the real blessings are and that’s his beautiful wife Tena and their two loving children Kevin Kaje and Maxine Aliyah.

Kenneth continues to write and works closely with many theatre organizations. He has received membership to such distinguished organizations such as The Dramatist Guild of America and The Urban Playwrights United.
